Membership FAQs
1. What are the requirements for membership slots?
Every membership must include at least one adult and one child. Each slot is assigned to a specific individual, so anyone using the membership must be named on it.
2. Can I leave a spot open or use a floating guest spot?
You’re welcome to leave a slot open if it’s not in use, but we don’t allow floating guest spots. Only the individuals named on the membership can use it.
3. Do you offer membership discounts?
Yes! We’re proud to offer two special membership options:
- Foster Family Memberships: Contact Guest Services for details.
- Museums for All Memberships: Available for SNAP, EBT, or WIC cardholders.
Additionally, educators receive a $20 discount with proof of employment.
4. Can I change the names on my membership?
Membership names are typically set at purchase. In unique situations, adjustments can be reviewed by Guest Services on a case-by-case basis.
5. Can an unnamed guest use my membership?
Only named individuals can use the membership for free admission. However, unnamed guests can join you with a discounted member guest ticket at $10 each.
6. How many people can a membership cover?
Membership levels vary based on family size. Contact Guest Services for help choosing the best option for your family. You can also review this information on our website.
7. How do I purchase or gift a membership?
You can purchase memberships online, at the front desk, or by phone.
8. When does my membership start, and how long is it valid?
Memberships activate immediately upon purchase and are valid for one year (12 months). Unless you purchase your membership during our annual membership sale, in which case an extra month will be added!
9. What if my family size changes after purchasing?
If your family grows, you can upgrade to a higher membership level. Guest Services will help you adjust your plan. Keep in mind, children under 1 are free!
10. Can I upgrade my membership?
Yes! Upgrades can be made within 3 months of purchase by paying the price difference. After that, upgrades require a full renewal.
11. Can I renew my membership before it expires?
Absolutely! Renew at any time, and your new membership will start the day after your current one expires—no months lost!
12. Are memberships refundable?
Memberships are non-refundable and cannot be canceled.
