The Children’s Museum of the Upstate (TCMU) is partnering with a statewide nonprofit organization, Family Connection of South Carolina, to display pieces of Family Connection’s LOOK!™ Photography Exhibit. Family Connection serves families across South Carolina who have children with a disability or chronic health condition. The Children’s Museum of the Upstate is the 7th largest children’s museum in the nation, dedicated to hands-on learning and play for children ages 0-12 and their families.
“We are honored to have this opportunity to bring pieces of our LOOK! collection to The Children’s Museum of the Upstate! said Amy Holbert, CEO of Family Connection. “These captivating photos of the children and youth we serve, represent Family Connection’s goals of creating inclusion, equity, and community.”
The LOOK! photos were taken by photographers from across the state who volunteered their time and talents to capture the participants in candid moments doing the things they like to do best. “We hope visitors to the museum will take the time to visit the display, view the photos, and read the inspiring stories that accompany them,” added Mrs. Holbert.
“We’re honored to host the LOOK! exhibit in partnership with Family Connection of South Carolina. This collaboration reflects TCMU’s dedication to inclusivity and accessibility and introduces this meaningful collection to visitors from across the Upstate,” says TCMU’s CEO, Lauren Luneckas. “Through these photographs, we aim to promote understanding and celebrate the inspiring stories of children and families facing disabilities or chronic health conditions.”
The LOOK! collection will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th and be on display on the museum’s first floor through June 14th. Viewing of the exhibit is free with the price of museum admission. Per museum policy, all adults must be accompanied by a child.
